9 Reasons To/Not To Buy COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream

I used to be one of those obnoxious person who felt that people who use sunscreen have a vanity problem unless they are going to the beach for the day.

But ever since small dark spots started to appear on my arms and shoulders (which the doctor assured me was nothing serious), I started to think what was causing these pesky things to appear.

Maybe it was to do with getting old. Age does like to play games with your body. And maybe… just maybe… it has something to do with the rays from the sun…

After all, these spots are in areas of the body that gets the most exposure to our unforgiving sun.

Now I cannot pinpoint with absolutely certainty that the harmful solar rays from the sun is the cause of these skin problems. But on the side of caution, I’ve started to put a little thought into using sun screens in my days outdoors.

Keeping in mind that because I have oily and sensitive acne-prone skin, putting creams on my face during the days does not give me any excitement at all.

In fact, I dread the thought of it. But with the possibility of keeping these tiny spots at bay while I age gracefully, I’m determined to use sunscreen regularly from now on.

With a LOT of research and trying a few different products, I’ve put in an order for COSRX aloe soothing sun cream for face. Here’s what the product does.

Firstly, there’s a difference between sun block and sun screen.

As what the name says, sun block supposedly blocks everything. But as we all know sunlight is a good source of vitamin D. So using a sunscreen supposedly blocks the bad stuff while allowing the good stuff to reach the skin.

Yup. That’s what I understand from an end consumer point of view.

UVA rays are the ones that makes a mess of our beautiful skin. They are the chief causes of wrinkling and premature aging. UVB rays are the more hostile ones that can cause skin cancers.

SPF is a measure of protection against UVB rays. The higher number it has, the higher the level of protection it provides.

PA is a measure of protection against UVA rays. The more pluses (+++) it has, the more protection it provides.

This item comes in a 50ml squeeze tube. Making it such a handy item to keep in the bag should you need to carry it with you when going outdoors.

To tell you the truth, I don’t get why almost every brand and manufacturer carries their sunscreens at 50ml while charging such a high price. I totally believe that they can easily double the amount of product to 100ml and still keep a healthy profit margin for themselves. It’s just that a 50ml tube makes it easy to bring around (which consumers very possibly will), so they settle for this size.

And although it’s texture has a watery feel, it is not as “watery” as many other “watery” sunscreens available in the market today.

But there is little trouble with applying and spreading it out on the skin. How smooth this is really took me by surprise. It reminds me of plain yogurt in a 5 ounce tub.

It actually spreads easily and absorbs just as quickly. Leaving no white cast and somewhat of a finish between matte and dewy.

Marketers will call this a light radiant glow.

I have oily skin. And after applying this sun cream, it does give me a little of that oily feeling. Yet when I look into the mirror, my face is not as oily as I I thought it would be.

So I wouldn’t say that it feels greasy. But it doesn’t feel dry either!

And later when my senses came back to me, I remembered when I felt that little tinge of greasiness on my skin. It was probably because this is a product that not just acts as a sunscreen, but as a moisturizer as well.

As I’m still an infant in the world of sunscreens, I’ve not had a lot of experience with sunscreens that doubles up and act as a moisturizer as well.

I figured that feeling must be of a hydrating feeling instead of an oily feeling.

Most importantly, after using this product for a couple of weeks, I’m happy to declare that this did not break me out. Those with acne-prone skin will agree that this is the biggest make-or-break factor when accessing facial products.
