9 Reasons To Buy A Portable Handheld Fan

I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I’m a hardcore online shopper.

You know the various ways shopping apps make you engage with the apps just to earn a few measly reward points?

That’s just one of the things I do to get that few cents in discount to purchase merchandise online.

And in recent times, I’ve observed that more and more vendors are selling these handheld portable fans. Shopping portals were even making quite an effort to promote them by pushing their banners onto the front page.

I thought that this was a fad and never gave it a second thought.

But I recently went on a trip to Taiwan and while doing some pre-travel shopping with my travel partner, she insisted on buying one even though I continuously made fun of here for buying something ridiculous.

It turned out that the portable handheld fan became an essential item… and led me to finally cave in and buy a couple of them for myself.

At first, I thought that the convenience factor of having a fan with you wherever you go is overstated.

I’ve traveled a lot over the years. And never have I been in a situation where I felt that a mini-fan was essential.

Now I realize that they never came to mind because I wasn’t really aware that they were available.

During my trip, there were moments when the heat was unbearable. There was no natural wind. And the only respite was a handheld fan blowing into my hair.

I could have endured the sweating misery just like I’ve always had in my travels in the past. But this simple invention surely alleviated these hot and sticky situations.

3) Compact

They really don’t take up much space.

You can easily squeeze one in between your clothes when packing the luggage and it wouldn’t make much of a difference in terms of packing space.

During my adventures in the city and hiking trails in the midst of nature, I kept it in a pouch.

It was heavy enough to cause the waist bag to droop a little.

But considering how you are going to love what it does when the heat catches up with you, carrying one with you is going to be worth it.

I initially though that these mobile devices are going to be fairly priced.

Before I actually bought one, I thought that they must cost over $20 and not worth the money.

When I looked into this world, I was surprised that entry level portable fans can be as cheap as under $5.

The premium ones mamufactured by more famous brands are just a little over $10.

I strongly suggest the branded ones as they feel premium and you can have a little more peace of mind that they are not going to break down within a few uses.

5) Long battery life

A short battery life is not really a dealbreaker as we carry power banks with us everywhere these days.

But having one that does not run out of juice quickly is surely a perk that most people would value.

During my trip, not once did the portable handheld fan run out of juice.

I was always able to recharge it at night while sleeping so that it’s in tip top condition again the next day.

6) Replaceable batteries

One of the things that was in my mind before falling in love with handheld fans is that their batteries are going to eventually be defective or simply “die” one day.

But I later learned that while the premium models are built to be sturdy, they were also design so that the average user can dismantle it as well.

This means that when batteries refuse to absorb anymore electricity, you can open it up like a surgeon and replace them with new batteries.
