9 Best Xiaomi Products Not Available In United States

Xiaomi is a Chinese electronics company that has become a global brand in recent years.

And they have achieve such a revered global brand without officially entering the biggest economy in the world… the United States.

That REALLY says a lot about how dominant the company has become all over the world.

While Xiaomi first made it’s name from affordable high-performance smart phones, they have a whole line of diverse products that toe the same line of flagship quality and affordability.

With 2018 tabled in as the yea Xiaomi finally makes it’s long-awaited entrance into the USA, here are some of the company’s best products that American consumers have been missing out on in recent years.

1) Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S

What better product to start off the list with than the most unique flagship phone in the throat-slashing market of smart phones.

If you don’t know, it is widely acknowledged that XIaomi was the one which kickstarted the whole trend of bezel-less smart phones with the introduction of the first Mi Mix.

At a time when smart phone manufacturers are very cautious with taking risks, Xiaomi boldly conceptualized the Mi Mix with bezels as narrow as possible.

That was 2016.

Now the latest version is Mi Mix 2S.

It comes with flagship technical specifications that rival competitors and at a price comparable to the mid-tier phones of Apple and Samsung.

What’s more unique is that it has a front-facing camera on the bottom of the phone instead of the top.

Because of bezel-limiting designs, it has always been a challenge for phone manufacturers to blend the front facing camera artistically onto their phones.

Samsung phones still have a noticeable top bezel, iPhones come with the notch. Even other major rmarket players like Sony, LG, Oneplus, etc, have stuck with the safety of keeping with proven designs.

Not Xiaomi.

With the conviction that smartphones will be most beautiful with “zero” top bezels, their designers made the bold move to move the front-facing camera to the bottom of the phone.

The result is an amazingly aesthetically pleasing flagship smart phone.

If you are someone who only buys flagship phones, you must definitely check out the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S.

And for your information, the Mi Mix 2S is not the only unique and special smart phone in the catalogue.

Also check out the Mi 7, Mi Max 2, Redmi Note 4, and more recently, the Black Shark.

2) Xiaomi Mi Band 2

That market for smart watches and fitness trackers have been dominated by a few brands like Fitbit and Garmin.

And in my opinion they have been charging obscene prices for their products.

The first Mi Band was introduced in 2014. And it took the world by storm.

Here is a smart band that does all the important things reliably without the fancy features you never use. And it only cost consumers a fraction of what the industry leaders are charging.

So well loved is the Mi Band that fans were getting really impatient until the Mi Band 2 was finally released 2 years later in 2016.

Until today, the slick-looking Mi Band 2 is still a top wearable activity tracker that provides exceptional value for users of such devices.

Market leaders in the US must get ready to brace themselves for the storm that Xiaomi’s entrance will bring.

3) Xiami Huami Amazfit

The Huami Amazfit is a smart watch and is Xiaomi’s answer to Apple Watch and Samsung Gear.

If there’s anything that these smart device juggernauts in the industry agrees on, it is that the watch is going to play a critical role in wearable technology.

And just like the US market for smart fitness trackers, the market for smart watches should brace themselves for Xiaomi grab of the market share.

4) Xiaomi air purifier

The Xiaomi air purifier is a workhorse of a purifier that pumps out 10,000 liters of clean air per minute. That’s 406m3/hour!

It’s delightfully looking and can be controlled via the Xiaomi app on your smart devices.

It’s not bulky in size, documented to remove 99.9% of PM2.5 particles, and even alerts the owner when it’s filters need replacement.

At an entry price of below $100, you get the best bang for your buck if you are looking for an air purifier.

5) Xiaomi Mijia electric scooter

Personal mobility devices have become a common sight these days.

And you just cannot fault a major electronics player like Xiaomi to voluntarily miss out of the wave.

Seeing the boom of this market right in their backyard (China), getting into this market must have been an easy decision to make.

On a recent visit to China, I was astonished at how much personal mobility devices were used by the masses.

People were basically zipping around every. Making it really feel like a high-tech futuristic city.

Capable of clocking 30km on a single charge, maximum speed of 25km/hour, a lot of competitors will be left smelling Xiaomi’s dust.

Have I mentioned how cool the scooter looks?

However, a popular model like the Mijia M365 has a max load of 100kg. So keep that in mind before purchasing.

6) Xiaomi Mi TV 4

Having a range of smart TVs in it’s product line,

You will be spoilt for choice as you will find that every model will of good quality and at a better price compared to their peers.

The version 4 has a shockingly slim 4.9mm thin 60Hz display screen that supports 4K viewing.

It also supports DOLBY DTS-HD while keeping 3Gb of ram under the hood.

What’s more. It comes with Kodi installed.

It’s going to be a long and costly war if Xiaomi as ambitions to dominate the market for resudential TV sets. Yet you wouldn’t bet against them either!

If you are satisfied with the TV sitting in your living room and just want to make it “smarter”, XIaomi has got you covered.

Here comes the…

7) Xiaomi Mi TV box 3

IP TV has become a big trend these days.

You don’t need to be a geek to configure a TV box  You can just buy one that has that done for you.

This Android TV box enables you to watch countless free-to-air TV channels all over the world…. and it works seamlessly with Google Chromecast too.

With 6Gb of ram and capable of streaming 4K videos, it’s worth getting a TV box that will last the distance than a cheaper one that comes with no support.

8) Xiaomi powerbank gen 2

Once you get your hands on a Xiaomi powerbank, you’d be wondering why current powerbanks in the market costs so much.

The gen 2 powerbank comes in 10,000mah and 20,000mah. It has a USB port that supports Quickcharge 3. And can do all the practical things you’d expect from a powerbank.

And it will cost you a fraction of what consumers are used to seeing in retail stores.

This is a product that truly shocked me and opened my eyes to how consumers are currently getting fleeced in the market for powerbanks.

Shame on the competition.

9) Xiaomi AI translator

If you are a frequent holiday traveler to see different parts of the world, one of the challenges that always linger on the back of your mind would be the language barrier.

With a little search on translating devices, you might have come across portable smart devices that allow you to speak your native language into a microphone, and having the device translate with audio what you said in the local language.

Well… Xiaomi is in this market too!

Their AI translator is proficient in 14 languages, has a standby time of 7 days, capable of 8 hours of continuous usage.

Honorable mention – Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum

This is another product segment that will turn on it’s head once Xiaomi enters the fray.

For a long time, robot vacuum cleaners have been dominated by a few names. These players have been designing great products that serve their purpose for consumers.

The problem is that they can be very expensive.

If you have never got one for the house, you will be very tempted to do so once you see the amount of value you get in this one.

Mi Roborock will literally have you rocking to it’s tune!

Where is Xiaomi going with this?

I might sound like an amateur geek-wannabe for raving about these products in the Xiaomi product line.

There are without question strong established market leaders in every product segment that has been mentioned above.

Many of them produce outstanding premium products that… understandably charges a premium price…

But Xiaomi sees things in a different light.

From my observation, they have a clear strategy of not squeezing every dollar out of the consumer. From a financial standpoint, they are totally fine with a low margin as they make it up with high volume.

From a big picture perspective, Xiaomi’s master plan seems to driven by a motivation to create the ultimate smart home system.

You can find almost every type of household items in the Xiaomi product line. And almost every one of them will connect to the Mi app which enables a user to control the device.

I’m honestly very excited to see Xiaomi’s growth and transformation in the next 5 years. And it’s coming to the USA!
